Cheyenne Mountain Chapter

Colorado Springs, Colorado

The DAR, founded in 1890, is headquartered in Washington, D.C. It is is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education.

DAR members volunteer more than 60,000 hours annually to veteran patients, award over $150,000 in scholarships and financial aid each year, and support schools for the underprivileged with annual donations exceeding one million dollars.

With 3,000 chapters across the United States and other countries, DAR boasts 165,000 members. Any woman 18 years or older, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership - regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background.
The Cheyenne Mountain Chapter has approximately 50 members in the Colorado Springs area. Membership includes Juniors (ages 18 to 35), mother-daughter pairs, sisters, multiple generations, and plenty of friends.  We normally meet on the first Saturday of the month (September through May); guests are welcome.  Please contact us for more information.

We provide help to prospective members interested in tracing lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution.   Please contact our Registrar if you are interested in joining us, or would like to learn more about what we do.  We welcome the active participation of new members.

The Cheyenne Mountain Chapter, NSDAR was organized on Sept 17, 2011, with Organizing Regent Mary Warren Daley.
